Tina Marie Bootz, 54, of Peoria, passed away at 7:09 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 2010, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

A memorial service to celebrate Tina’s life will be at 4 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2010, at Clary Funeral Home, 428 West McClure Avenue, in Peoria. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, following the services at the funeral home.

She was born in Peoria on January 20, 1956, a daughter of William F. and Kolleen (Wagner) King. Her mother preceded her in death on November 26, 1985. She married Mark S. Bootz on October 27, 1979 in Peoria. He survives.

Tina is also survived by her daughters, Chariss (Scott Chockley) Bootz of Peoria and Lisa (Robert) Schacht of Peoria; father, William F. King of Peoria; five brothers; one sister; and grandson, Easton Robert Schacht, on the way.

She was raised in the Catholic faith. She attended St. Mark Grade School and graduated from Manual High School.

Tina was a Project Coordinator for ATS (Advance Technology Services) in Peoria, last working on October 14, 2010.

She was a volunteer for Methodist Hospice for twenty-five years, a Girl Scout Leader, past President of Rolling Acres PTO, a volunteer for Richwoods High School Cheerleading and was also involved in many other activities that helped others.

Tina loved crocheting, baking, socializing, being around family and friends, taking trips, shopping, enjoying anything chocolate, collecting Precious Moments, spoiling her daughters and doing anything that let her spend time with her husband.

She was a wonderful mother and always put others first, including strangers. She loved being with her family, especially talking around the kitchen table. If her husband and daughters were happy, then she was happy.

Tina will be remembered for being such a positive and non-judgmental person. She always thought that you gotta have hope and you gotta believe.

Memorial contributions may be made in Tina’s memory to the Shih Tzu Rescue Adoption and Education Safe House (STRAES), 14015 Lemont Road, Homer Glen, Illinois 60491.

Life with Tina was simply amazing. Those who knew her will attest to that. Those who didn't missed out on something special. Tina would always say to me "kill 'em with kindness, there is no room for more ugliness in this world." Baby, you made me a better man after 31 years together. I loved you with all my heart and will deeply miss you.

Trouble
I remember since the first day that I met Tina we have always clicked. Her laughter, her kindness, he love. We would sit at our desks and people would say things and Tina and I would just look at each other and just laugh. We knew what each other was thinking and we would always get in trouble for our laughing and joking. When you saw one you usually saw the other. I will always love Tina for inviting me into her "Circle of friends" She will always be a part of me and my life.

I'm not sure that it's an easy task to encapsulate Tina in so few words but I shall try. Tina was one of the sweetest and most loving woman I've had the pleasure of knowing. Upon meeting her as she lay floating amicably on a pool floatie one lazy summer weekend, she decided my name was too difficult to remember and that I was hereby known as Jazzy. She said it with a hearty laugh and I knew I was forever branded. She was a special woman whom I never saw down or upset. A light always shined around her in such a way that one could not help but be infected by her carefree and loving manner. You will be missed tina but never forgotten.
Kegs and Eggs and Jacks and Cokes
I remember at last year's Kegs and Eggs, I was sitting in a lawn chair in the garage a "little" tipsy with my guitar. Tina sat down next to me and asked me why I wasn't playing. I told her that I was pretty bad with the guitar and I didn't want to break any eardrums. She told me to play something anyway...so I did. She started laughing and said, "wow, you are pretty bad!" ...then she took a drink of her drink and chuckled a little and said, "well, keep playing!" She knew how to make a person feel good even when they knew they were bad! We'll all miss ya Tina!!! p.s. I vote for the new name of the post Thanksgiving party to be "Kegs and Eggs and Jacks and Cokes" :-)

Tina was a great woman. She hired me about two years ago to work for AHC and from day one I knew she was a wonderful person that would help anybody if they had any problems. She was so outgoing and her smile lit up a room. I could go to her for anything and she was more than willing to help me.  It was a great pleasure to get to work with her. She will be missed. I know its hard but she is in a great place and at peace. my prayers go out to her family.
